The new book Stories of Miracles from Artsakh was officially launched in Yerevan, offering readers a powerful window into Artsakh’s centuries-old Christian heritage and the spiritual traditions of its people. Available in both Armenian and English, the volume was compiled by the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Artsakh and published with the support of the Tufenkian Foundation and Save Armenia.
The event opened with a prayer and blessing by His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Artsakh. In his remarks, Bishop Abrahamyan highlighted the collaboration with the Tufenkian Foundation and Save Armenia.
“This important partnership made it possible to bring Stories of Miracle from Artsakh to life—a book that presents Artsakh’s rich Christian heritage and shares the miracles tied to our churches and holy sites. The volume was originally compiled as part of a joint program with our partner, the NGO Dialogue,” Bishop Abrahamyan noted.
Antranig Kasbarian, Trustee of the Tufenkian Foundation, delivering a welcome address, emphasized the Foundation’s continuous commitment to presenting Artsakh's Christian cultural heritage to the world and supporting the resilience of Artsakhi Armenians.
“This collaboration began months ago during the visit of Save Armenia representatives to Armenia. The publication, now also available in English, helps introduce Artsakh’s centuries-old Christian heritage to the international community,” Antranig Kasbarian stated.
Speaking on behalf of Save Armenia, Director Matias Perttula underlined the importance of the partnership and noted the significance of presenting Stories of Miracles from Artsakh to audiences in the United States.
“Miracles hold great significance in the Evangelical faith. Without hesitation, we agreed to publish and translate this book of miracles as soon as we learned about it,” said Matias Perttula.
The event also featured remarks by Melanya Balayan, Office Manager of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Artsakh and co-compiler of the book, as well as by the authors of the miracle tales.
The book highlights sacred legends and miracle tales connected to Artsakh’s holy sites, churches, and notable figures, offering a window into its deep Christian traditions. The stories draw from both historical records and oral accounts, compiled by Rev. Deacon Edward Keshishyan and Melanya Balayan.
